Why does YTNotes sometimes fail to generate notes for certain YouTube videos?
YTNotes relies on YouTube’s public data and third-party APIs to fetch video transcripts. While it works for most videos, some may not have transcripts available due to one or more of the following reasons:
- Transcripts are disabled: The video creator may have turned off captions or restricted access.
- Language limitations: Transcripts in certain languages may not be supported or may return error.
- API limitations: Some videos may intermittently fail due to rate limits, high traffic, or temporary issues.
- Copyright or private videos: Restricted or private videos usually don’t allow transcript access.
We’re continuously working to improve support and reliability, but please note that YTNotes may not work with all videos especially those without available transcripts.
If you encounter repeated failures for a specific video, feel free to reach out to us with the video link or ID, and we’ll look into it.
